most uber rich players seem to (from what i've read) have made the majority of their wealth from just being here from the start, and buying absolute monstrous amounts of ecto from the traders when the got reset every little while.. I got good (my opinion here feel free to disregard) at this game meaning that i can do most elite runs and farm pretty much everywhere, but this was after the nerf of AoE of course, so for *many* of us who are like me... we will almost certainly never have 2 million+, at least in chapter one that is.
As well people can still seem to make boat loads of cash if they're in LBS even though many people can do the exact same services for 10x cheaper.. go figure . Maybe paying 15 ecto to get into lbs would be worth it just so you can charge outrageous prices (saying you have the required skill). My point being, for many people it is to late to be "rich" no matter how hard you try, as people were easily making 100k+ per hour before the aoe nerf, lost strongbox nerf, and the arid seas chest and now farming is way to slow no matter where you do it, unless you basically live your life out doing mindless smite runs. Just so no one points out that i seem to have forgotten trading here, i haven't. A lot of that is just luck, being there at the right time with enough money to get a good buy. A rule of thumb though, the more expensive the weapons you deal in, the greater the profits you can collect from them. and as far as i know the most expensive weapon was that 15% unconditional dwarven If you didn't like what i have to say for any reason disregard this post. - MalcomX |

anyone who claims to be able to make 500k a day 'if they wanted to' is talking out of their behind, there is no way you could guarantee an income of that magnitude, and i also find it hard to believe that someone would sell a 13>50 crystaline for 20k (even the most in experienced whammo knows crystaline swords are 100k upwards range).
But if it makes you feel better to boast then go ahead, i'll just be over here in the corner giggling to my self. =] |

I could ask 50 mil for an orange dye, that doesn't mean i'll get it.

Lol. Truth is people can just say there item is the most expensive, but it is always debatable. I would say value-wise on a general scale though, 15^50 Dwarven Axes or Crystallines are the most valuable. Unconditionals are a whole different story though.

The unconditional dwarven is not actually unconditional. If you look at it it has a zealous or vampiric hilt. Back in the day there was a bug which allowed the -1energy/-1hp regen to disappear and be replaced with the hilt one so it appears to be 15% unconditional.
Yes the person may just like zealous / vamp mods but that is doubtful. If a sundering mod was added the negative factor would become visable. I may be wrong but this has been bugging me for some time. If it is not actually unconditional/no negative then it is no way near the most expensive item ever and would be only worth under 10 million unless someone has a fetish for bugged weapons. There are however actual unconditional weapons and not bugged ones. Any more info on the dwarven would help uncover whether or not it has no negative... |

That's at like 85-90k right now anyways. Never seen an unconditional Dwarven Axe. Yes, I have seen an unconditional Crystalline Sword, and they do exist. I doubt the unconditional Dwarven Axe exists though unless it was around before the nerf 1-2 weeks into the game. But there are few as ANet nerfed their drops like 1-2 weeks after the game came out. So only the few who had made it somewhat far got them. Funnily enough, PvP players made a lot from HoH and they had little competition because RP characters were still coming around. Also, in the beta, Crystallines dropped in a lot of different places. The unconditionals are so rare, they are often millions and millions. |

In thoery the most expensive would be:
A 15% unconditional gold req7 Crystalline Sword, mods wouldnt matter - but best is Furious of Fortitude. 15% unconditional only dropped the first few weeks, and req7 swords dont drop anymore either I dont think. Would be much more than any 1 account can hold. |

Besides, 15% Unconditional > 15^50 > 15% In Stance > 15% Enchanted > 20% Hexed > 20v50 And, as a side note: (Perfect) Rarity Chart (Swords): Crystalline > Brute > Fellblade > Flamberge > Long Sword (Note: Not a complete list ) Last edited by SiLeNt EuPhOrIa; Apr 03, 2006 at 12:15 AM // 00:15.. |

Oh and, silent, the max for hexed dmg bonus is 20%. Though I don't get why Brute Swords are viewed as so rare - I've had tonnes : / |
